My absolute favorite part of The Outsiders movie is when Darry says “Pony, you smoke more than a pack today, and I’ll skin ya, understand?” and Ponyboy says “You carry more than one bundle of roofing at a time, today, and me and Soda will skin you, understand?” And Darry gets the happiest little smile on his face. You can see how thrilled he is that Ponyboy is concerned for him, and it’s really so sweet.

Things about The Outsiders people forget too often:

- Darry doesn’t smoke

- Tim has a giant scar on his face that runs from temple to chin

- Dally had light blond hair

- Soda had honey blond hair

- Ponyboy and Johnny were actually good at fighting

- The rumble in the story was the first rumble with socs they’d ever had

- Two-Bit had sideburns

- Two-Bit’s last name only has one t (Mathews, not Matthews)

- Steve went to jail once

- Ponyboy and Darry used to be close

- The Curtis parents only died 8 months prior to the start of the story

I understand that some of these are only in the book, and you can believe whatever you want to believe. These things are just (in my opinion) things that are important or stuck out to me that are often overlooked.
